The consultation

One visit to get the lay of your land. We walk the property together while I read the light, soil, drainage, and the plants already there, and we talk through your goals and how much maintenance you are comfortable with.

In person

I walk your property and assess light, soil, drainage, and existing plants while we talk goals and maintenance comfort.

Virtual (Zoom)

The same conversation by video. You share photos or walk the yard on camera. Good for out of area, or a lighter first step.

  • Walk-through and assessment of the property
  • Soil, light, drainage, and existing-plant evaluation
  • Goals conversation: maintenance, aesthetics, wildlife
  • Practical, prioritized next steps
  • A written summary to keep

The $125 fee is credited toward any project you move forward with.

Design and install.

Once we have walked the site, you decide how far to take it, from a simple plant list to a full design in the ground. Every option is quoted per project.

Plant recommendations

Best for confident DIYers who just need the plant list.

  • A site-specific plant list, the right natives for your conditions and goals
  • Notes on placement, behavior, and seasonal interest
Quoted per project

Conceptual plan

The middle step, when you want a sense of the layout.

  • Everything in the plant list, plus planting zones and groupings
  • A simple layout so you know roughly what goes where, short of a to-scale drawing
Quoted per project
The works

Full design

A finished plan you can build from for years.

  • A complete, to-scale planting plan with an illustrated rendering
  • Plant schedule with quantities, a phasing schedule, and sourcing notes
Quoted per project
Installation

Into the ground, sized to the project.

Build it yourself straight from the plan, or hand the install to me. How it runs depends on the scale of the work.

Smaller projects

I install directly, hands in the soil, so the planting goes in exactly as drawn.

Larger projects

I coordinate and oversee trusted local crews, staying on start to finish as your set of eyes on the ground.

A full design is required before I install, since it's the plan the planting follows. Once your design is final, installation is quoted from the agreed plan.

Ongoing

Maintenance & seasonal check-ins

Ongoing guidance as the garden establishes: seasonal check-ins, adjustments, and answers to questions as they come up.

Most new gardens look great in year one and a little confusing in year two. This is what carries you through: pruning windows, editing decisions, what to leave standing, what to divide, when to overseed.

  • Spring, summer, and fall site visits
  • Seasonal task lists tuned to your garden
  • Plant-by-plant care and ID help
  • Email Q&A between visits
  • Booked as single visits or a seasonal package, sized to your garden
Plan ongoing care
Talks & education

Talks for garden clubs, libraries, and conservation groups.

Friendly, practical talks for a general audience: no jargon, plenty of takeaways, and time for questions. Available in person or live online, and always educational, never a sales pitch.
